The last five years, I have been running online workshops, trainings and events, and I've been doing so without any co-facilitators or producers helping me run the back end. And the way that I have been able to stay sane while managing the 100 different things that go into facilitating online is that I have found two key pieces of technology that I use in every single session of mine.

And the great news about these is that they work regardless of what platform you use, because they work in the background. So whether you're on Zoom, on teams, on meet, all of those can use these two pieces of software that I have been kind of honing and refining over the last couple years, and I'm going to teach you how to use both of these things entirely for free in this course. So the first one is OBS, and OBS is what I use to allow me to avoid screen shares really at all, at all costs, because I find screen shares really disorienting for me and for my participants.

So with OBS, I can actually be on Zoom, but my camera can end up looking like this, where my slides are right next to me, or I can split the screen and share a bunch of information or have it more featured. I can even do screen shares that are just where my camera is, and I can pop in to the screen share if I really want to. So OBS is what allows me to do this, and it will allow you to do that in any platform, regardless of what you use.

And the other piece of software that I use that is just a brain saver is this thing called stream deck. This is how I end up front loading a lot of the work, or prepping a lot of the work that I'm going to do in my sessions ahead of time. So everything that I'm going to send in the chat, directions, links, anything like that, just gets loaded up onto my stream deck. And so when I press a button, it shows up in the chat, and then I can just hit enter and it sends to my group, or I can have it send automatically, if I just change how the button works. So I'm going to press this button, and it's just going to send straight into the chat. It does things like that. It's got a timer built in. We can control zoom in all these different ways.

And I'm going to show you how to use this piece of technology, but using your phone entirely for free, so that you can come back to being able to do a bit of prep ahead of your sessions, and then feel more present and available, to be ready for your group, and to be able to just be like present in your workshops, in your trainings with the people that you're bringing together in this course.

We're also going to go behind the scenes. I'm going to show you all the tech setup that I use, which isn't particularly complicated, but everybody always wants to know what's going on behind the scenes, and we're going to get into all of that and more in this course. So welcome, and let's get started.
